Two years ago, on paper, I had it all. I was running a successful skincare company, and business was booming. But then, the market shifted. Growth stalled. Key managers walked out. Suddenly, the numbers I used to be proud of became a source of terror. I was so paralyzed by anxiety that I couldn't even bring myself to open my monthly financial reports. I was lost in a fog of panic, with no compass to guide me.
So, I ran away. I packed a single bag, bought a one-way ticket, and headed toward the silent peaks of the Tanggula Mountains in Tibet.
The Scent of Stillness
I ended up in Tuiwa, the highest village in the world. Up there, time doesn't rush; it flows.Just mountains, gentle winds, and yaks walking slowly by the lake. One afternoon, I sat with a group of monks as they crushed and dried rare herbs to make traditional Tibetan herbal beads. They handed me one. As I breathed in its earthy, woody aroma, my racing heart began to slow. The scent didn't just smell good; it feltreal. It was a physical signal to my nervous system that it was finally safe to breathe.
